Lemongrass EO

Lemongrass is another one of those essential oils that has many uses for such a small bottle! Some uses for Lemongrass include:

*Ingesting a few drops can help aid in healthy digestion. Lemongrass EO (when consumed on a regular basis) has also been shown to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol in the body.

*Because of the high citral content in the oil, it works as a natural insect repellent. (See below for a recipe using natural ingredients!)

*The limonene components of Lemongrass EO can help relieve muscle pains by reducing inflammation and increasing blood flow to sore areas.

*Putting a very small drop on a persistent blemish can help clear it up very quickly! Be careful, however, as Lemongrass is a very hot oil and can cause skin sensitivity. (I usually use Lemongrass very sparingly on my face, but when I do I apply it at night as it causes my face to become slightly irritated. It sure works wonders on those blemishes though!)

Diffuser Blend: A fun blend of EOs for the diffuser that smells sweet and nostalgic of your childhood days is a mix of equal parts Lemongrass, Grapefruit, and Wild Orange.

Insect Repellent:

- 8 oz. glass bottle with spray nozzle

- 4 oz. distilled water

- 4 oz. witch hazel

- 30 drops combined of any of the following EOs: Lemongrass, Geranium, Peppermint, Lavender and/or Melaleuca

Shake well before each use and apply as needed to shoes, clothes, and body. Be careful to stay away from the face and eyes.

Video: In case you are interested in seeing where Lemongrass EO comes from and how it is harvested for the EO.
